MY 2022 ON COLOR FILM

Well, 98% of these are photos of my kids, haha. Despite my indignant demands that they please stop, they're growing up before my very eyes. Each photo is a treasured souvenir of their smallness.

Looking back every year, I always realize how many photos I *didn't* get. Once-in-a-lifetime moments that I never want to forget – and I didn't take a picture. But I knew that feeling would come, and throughout the year, as I spent the majority of my creative energy in 2022 building a baby, I reminded myself that "to every thing there is a season." It was more of a season of mothering one within and three running around out here.

MY 2021 ON COLOR FILM

2021 was a weird and wonderful year. Here's some of my best personal work from those twelve months.

MY 2020 ON COLOR FILM // January 11, 2021

In 2016 I shared a blog post of my favorite color film photos I shot that year. I intended to do the same the following year but didn't – 2017 was riddled with tragedy and I couldn't even bring myself to go through my archives; at the end of December I miscarried for the third time that year. Gratefully, I spent most of 2018 pregnant and shared this delightful batch of favorite photos at the end of the year. I'm still disappointed in my 2019 self for not doing one, but here we are! 2020 is over and I got my last rolls of film back last week.

These photos are mostly chronological (buckle up, there are a ton of them). I had to force myself to shoot some of these photos, while others were taken at some of the happiest moments of my life.

Color, light, home, the Pacific, flowers, my people. That's all you'll find here.

All of these were shot by me, almost all on Portra 400 through my Canon EOS 3 (+ a remote, sometimes!), with a few others on various other cameras and a few brought down to black and white in post.

Enjoy xo
